New Jersey

The North & Central New Jersey chapter of EkamUSA was founded in August 2018. Through various events in the past 3 years, we’ve helped raise awareness and funds for Ekam’s commitment to improving maternal and infant health in the rural areas of India. In June 2019, we hosted a 5K run in Raritan Rahway Park and raised over $19,000 for Ekam projects. The funds went towards supporting various projects such as building an eye care facility in Salem, Tamilnadu, and providing meals in hospitals. We also organized other fundraising events like lemonade stands, bake sales, and even an annual Superbowl pool. In addition, we volunteer in the local NJ area and engage in projects such as cooking food for a homeless shelter and conducting arts and crafts with adults with autism.
