Deficiency Awareness Program

Raising funds for the Deficiency Awareness Program, a student-led effort to expand education, early detection, and advocacy for genetic deficiency conditions worldwide. The aim of this campaign is to protect the health of the most vulnerable members of our communities, including newborns, families in underserved areas, and patients at risk of preventable complications because their condition was never identified or understood.

We are working towards this by equipping communities and healthcare professionals with life-saving knowledge. We intend to provide various forms of support, including: creating educational materials, presenting at colleges and universities, attending pre-med and medical conferences, advocating for newborn screening, and meeting with senators and policymakers to champion legislation that recognizes and addresses these conditions.

Overall, our goal is a world where newborns are screened for genetic deficiency conditions, every community is informed, and no one is harmed by a condition that could have been prevented. Your support helps us turn our student voices into real change.
